Question

Is there a programme that does a rinse and spin only

Judith
AUGUST 2017
Answer

Hi Judith, Yes there is it's called delicate rinses. I have never used it but I'm sure it's fine. There is also a separate drain program and a separate spin program. You can select how fast you want the spin to be from 400 to 1200. Hope this helps.

Question

HOW LONG IS THE QUICK CYCLE? I HAVE READ A FEW REVIEWS THAT SAY THERE IS NO QUICK CYCLE ALTHOUGH IT IS LISTED. ONE USER MENTIONS 2.5HRS TO RUN A WASH.

LINDA
JULY 2017
Answer

I use the "delicates" at 40degrees for general washes not too soiled. 1hr 5 mins but you can time save to 55mins. Synthetics is a good wash at 60 degrees 1hr 30 mins. I never need a hotter wash so can't help with that. I have used the refresh wash at 30degrees 30mins for a quick freshener. Hope this helps.

Question

Can I open the door during a cycle so as to put something in or take something out then continue the cycle?

D
JULY 2017
Answer

Hello, I don't believe you can do that with any machine unless it's a dryer (and even then there are very few that can open during a cycle). I have not tried it but I am assuming you cannot as once the cycle finishes it takes 60 seconds to open the door. I have done this with my dishwasher but not on a washing machine. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Answer

You can turn off the machine at any stage in the cycle to get something out or add something however you will get a lot of water on the floor when you open the door. You would then need to start a new cycle as you can't continue the one you were using. So the answer to your question is really only in an emergency.

Answer

No you cannot open the door mid cycle and I don't think you can open it even if you switch the cycle off as there is a protection system

I have found that after a wash the spin is not sufficient so I always put them on a separate spin after.

Question

The blurb says wash time 180 minutes what 3 hours! How long does a 40 degree synthetic wash take please?

Sue
JANUARY 2016
Answer

I think that must have had Japanese instructions. Even the hot wash doesn't take that long! I do my synthetic wash for 40 minutes adjusting the button marked time saver down to that time. Perfect results. I always use the time saver with excellent results.

Question

Sorry, another question or 3! 1. I've read that it is very noisy and shakes. Does it? 2. I've also read on the AEG site (reviews) that the drum smells. Does it? 3. Finally, I can't decide whether to get this one or a more expensive Bosch. How do they compare? Sorry for so many questions!! Thank you

Jacqui
AUGUST 2015
Answer

It certainly is not noisy and shaking is surely related to installation issues. If it is properly installed as in run it before the bench top goes on it shouldn't be an issue. Drum smells, I can't say I have noticed this ever but you do need to do a hot wash occasionally to kill any bugs. Buying more expensive isn't always the answer. The only thing I don't like about this machine is the lack of a quick wash cycle for lightly soiled clothes.

Question

I have read that the machine has a flat back. Is this correct? If so, I'm assuming that the width of the hoses etc needs to be added to the stated depth of the machine before deciding if it will fit into the cupboard space? Please can someone advise

Jacqui
AUGUST 2015
Answer

it is a flat back. The washing machine is standard depth as the dimensions said on the specifiations but I just need to adjust the hinges position. It is a very good washing machine as you can wash your clothes in just half an hour.

Yes it's a flat back. I had to change the hinges to the other side. It's a great machine. So easy to use and the 30 minute wash is just perfect for me. Love it .

Question

Is this machine a great buy? Will it wash my cottons well? Does it take a long time to complete the wash? Is it noisy a) when washing b) on the spin Is the washing still wet after the final spin or well dampened?

Jimmy
FEBRUARY 2015
Answer

It is a great buy. Washes cottons brilliantly but the choice of detergent does make a difference. You can choose the length of time of your wash. I think it is far less noisy than my previous machine. The washing is just well dampened after the final spin

Answer

I don't have a quick wash button, however I use the synthetic wash on a 40 minute cycle, you can change the temperature to a max of 60 deg right down to cold. For a really hot wash, quickest cycle is an hour and 35 at 95 deg. Hope this helps.

The half time feature.
Overall the machine is very noisy, especially on spin compared to our previous Bosch. I have levelled the machine with a spirit level and made sure the little "anti shake" device is fitted properly but no difference. Overall I should have spent the extra and bought another Bosch.
